CASTLE'S HISTORY

In the century XI our territory was a feud whose pious owners delay you/they will be remembered as the gentlemen by Mogliano. And probable that there were four castles: Mogliano, Montansone, Montechiaro and Knoll S.Lucy. That of Mogliano, surely the pious great and the pious main point, for some centuries, while the others, following various stories, they will have life pious brief.The castle (castrum) was the center of the territorial organization of a feud or a rural dominion: surrounded by boundaries, it contained the gentleman's building, the residences of his submitted and a church where the religious functions were celebrated from a parish priest or from a monk coming from a neighbor monastic cell; in the near the hovels of the free farmers and the servants of the glebe. On the hill of Montechiaro there was therefore a castle with a church entitled to S.Grisogono. We don't know if the church was anterior to the castle or contextually built, we know of specify the period of this installation. It was situated on the sommit of the hill and it was connected from a road that, climbing over the ridge, it continued for Montolmo.
